Which I am totally okay with.
You see, over the last few years I formed some bad habits for myself (as much as I hate to admit it here on the internet for all to see). Defaulting to fast food if I didn't pack a lunch, taking the elevator instead of the stairs, watching Netflix instead of working out, choosing the higher calorie foods at restaurants... You get the idea. I didn't fall completely off the wagon, but I definitely created some unhealthy habits. My wake up call was the beginning of December 2015 when I looked myself up on the BMI scale. Yeah... I was actually in the beginning of the "overweight" section!
With the start of my new job throwing my whole normal routine off I am choosing to take this opportunity to break my unhealthy habits and replace them with healthier ones.
I started trying to make healthier choices back in December, and I am already down 11 pounds! However I'm starting to struggle again. My life has gotten busier and I can see myself defaulting to those nasty habits again!
So, I need your help!!
I know I'm not the only one out there who is struggling in this area of life. So why don't we all join together and make #healthyhabits together??
I know we have all heard about how you can start a new habit in just 21 days, but a study published in the European Journal of Sociology and Psychology proved that it actually takes 66 days or longer. I think this makes sense considering you not only have to make new habits, but break the old ones.
I have created a Facebook group called the 66 day healthy habits challenge for us all to join, rally around one another, and cheer each other on to healthier habits! I will post healthy recipes, have some motivational stuff for us all, interview specialists, have some giveaways, and more! I'm not even trying to sell you anything!
We will all have different goals, to lose a specific amount of weight, run a certain amount of miles, cook dinner more often, go to the gym a certain number of days a week, etc. But one thing we all have in common is our need for encouragement, accountability, advice, and community.
Let's do this!
Join the Facebook group , invite your friends, and let's get ready for the launch date of March 20th - exactly 3 months before Summer (and bathing suit weather)!
**Although we will all have different methods and goals for these 66 days, I am asking that everyone who joins NOT to use a "magic" pill or anything like that. In order to BREAK these old bad habits and REPLACE them with healthy ones we need to actually stop doing the unhealthy habits - NOT JUST AVOID THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF OUR UNHEALTHY CHOICES!!**
