1. Binder Organization
A. Convenient, Easy to Get to Sticky-Notes
This is super easy! All you do is tear off a small chunk of sticky notes, put double sticky tape on the back of it, and stick it to the inner cover of your binder! Make sure to rub the sticky notes so that they stick really well.
You can do the same thing with the sticky-tab-markers! Just make sure you buy the ones that are all connected instead of individual because it saves you a lot of time taping!
This makes it super easy to mark your notes or give yourself reminders. You can even have a different color for each class!
B. The 3 Essentials: Labeled Page Dividers, A Hole Punch, and a Stapler

C. Handy Index Cards
Whenever I take a class that requires any memorization this is a must! All you do is use a 3-holed hole punch to put holes in your index cards and place them in your binder. You can make flash cards as the teacher lectures and says something will be on the test and you can move them to whichever class tab you want. These things have saved my grades a couple of times!
D. Personalize it!
Your Binder is Finished!
2. Portable Expanding Filer
This is what makes it possible to only have 1 binder! If you use one of these handy portable filing binders then you can keep all of your handouts and assignments separate from your binder(s). I make a master tab for the class, and then within that section have a tab for handouts, assignments, and then items that have been graded. This keeps all of the mess out of your binder and turns it into something organized and easy to use!
3. Utilizing Your Tablet
One of the other many upsides to using a tablet for school is the note taking capabilities. They make many different cases with keyboards now which makes it even easier! When you take notes with your tablet you can easily keep up with the teacher and you can easily read them afterward. When I was hand writing notes I couldn't keep up with the fast-talking teacher and then, because I was rushing, my hand writing was impossible to read later.
Another great aspect of note taking with a tablet is being able to share your notes. If another student was out of class I could easily email them a copy of my notes. I could also email them to myself and have access to them on a computer if I wanted to turn them into flash cards or something.
Once again, the search function! In my notes I could easily just search my notes for any words I wanted which made studying so much easier!
I honestly don't know how I succeeded at college before I had my tablet. USING A TABLET COMPLETELY CHANGES EVERYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT BEING A STUDENT! Seriously.
Let's start off with the idea of e-text books. I can rent my text books as an ebook for a fraction of the cost of a paper text book. Here's an example:
To purchase a paper version of my accounting textbook I would have to pay $136.35. (And that's from Amazon, not the expensive book store).
To rent the kindle version for a year I only have to pay $50.97
That's a savings of $85.38!
Honestly my tablet paid for itself within the first semester I got it.What is also AMAZING about e-text books is how they function. You can highlight things in different colors with just a tap of the screen and you can bookmark pages and easily maneuver throughout the book. My favorite thing of all, though? The search function! You can search for whatever term you want and the app will show you every time that term shows up in the entire book. It is phenomenal for studying!!
